PROJECT-INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

Introduction

You have been approached by a new client who is wanting to develop a new commercial site in Lonsdale SA. The proposed development is to construct various warehouse tenancies including 14 x precast warehouses with a mezzanine for business operations.The client has already engaged a builder designer who has provided you with an architectural drawing set. You have been engaged to undertake the engineering design for the proposed development for construction approval. In addition to the architectural set, you have also been provided with a soil borelog and existing site survey.

Brief

You will need to incorporate the above introduction and the following tasks into a formal brief including the scope of work and deliverables that will be submitted by your group. (This must be in your own words.) The brief will form. the basis of the Project Proposal presented by your team (to which you can assign a unique name) to the client (in this case the Subject Coordinator).The brief needs to clarify exclusions i.e. aspects of the development shown in the attached drawings that will not be addressed (assuming that this work will be undertaken by others.)

Tasks

A. Examine the Proposed Development Plan, the Site Plan and any other related documentation. You will need to determine;

1. The peak stormwater runoff to the council drains from the proposed development assuming that predevelopment, all stormwater was contained within the allotment.

2. The ARI (AEP) set by the council and any other regulatory requirements.

3. A pipe/drainage layout including RL's to convey the stormwater and details for pipe and drain connections.

4. Pit sizing and pipe diameters.

5. Appropriate pavement gradings for vehicle movement and surface water flow.

6. The location and size of the retention/detention tank according to council requirements and tank details (Including sizing any orifice's or pump systems).
